Overview
We were selected to contribute to the Romanian Post’s digitalization efforts, an important milestone we are genuinely proud of. The mission was clear: replace an outdated delivery system with a modern application that could support day-to-day field operations at scale, while fitting into a broader, future-ready IT architecture.
Challenge
Romanian Post operates in a complex national environment, with diverse delivery realities across large cities and rural areas. The legacy systems used for delivery operations have become a bottleneck: difficult to extend, hard to integrate, and increasingly misaligned with modern operational needs.
Beyond technology, the transformation came with organizational challenges that are common in large, long-established institutions:
A multi-layered organizational structure, with local variations, especially in rural regions
Change resistance, particularly among long-tenured staff used to established routines
Outdated nomenclatures and data catalogs, which introduced inconsistencies and slowed process standardization
Our Solution
We developed a modern delivery operations application designed to fully replace the legacy tools and support the full spectrum of field activity.
A key success factor was ensuring the solution did not live in isolation. The application was built to integrate with Romanian Post’s existing systems, becoming part of a scalable, modern PlantAnApp architecture. This enabled consistent data exchange, streamlined operations, and created a foundation for future enhancements.
Discovery and Process Design
Given the complexity of the organization and the variability in real-world scenarios, we ran multiple in-depth analysis sessions with stakeholders and operational teams. These sessions helped us map current workflows, identify gaps, reconcile inconsistent data structures, and design a set of standardized yet flexible flows.
The result was a set of delivery flows capable of covering:
Core delivery operations (end-to-end delivery lifecycle)
Adjacent operational activities, including:
customer presentations / handovers
bill payments
special deliveries
additional field services required in specific contexts
Outcome
Through structured discovery, iterative alignment, and a strong integration-first approach, we delivered a solution able to take over the entire delivery activity while also supporting critical complementary services. The application fits into a broader modernization effort, enabling Romanian Post to standardize operations, improve scalability, and move forward with confidence on its digital transformation path.
